The Japan Exchange and Teaching Program Alumni Association of Northern California (JETAANC) today announced its 2017 scholarship program for high school seniors going onto an accredited two or four year higher education program. The JETAANC scholarship is open to students of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency, living in the California counties north of San Luis Obispo, Kern, and San Bernardino counties, as well as all of Nevada. Applicants are judged based on a number of criteria including a demonstrated interest in Japan, Japanese language, or Japanese culture, as well as academic accomplishments, a personal essay, and recommendations.
2017 applications are available for online submission via the JETAANC website scholarship page www.jetaanc.org/scholarship and are due by April 21, 2017. The winner will be announced in May 2017.
