Kurtis was an ALT at Maebashi Boys High School in Gunma prefecture from 2004-2008. He likes inaka soba, hiking, and traveling around Japan. Since returning he has also served as Co-President and board member of JETAASC, and Vice President of JETAANC. He has worked at the Consulate General of Japan as a speechwriter and is currently a data analytics auditor at the California State Auditor, which performs oversight of state and local government programs.
