Kai was a Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) from 2010-2015, first working in Seika, Kyoto and then transferring to Niigata City, Niigata in his third year. While in Japan Kai enjoyed weightlifting, skiing, trying different ramen, and collecting Daruma.

After finishing his time on the Program he moved to the Bay Area and took over the role as JET Program Coordinator at the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco where he worked from 2015 to 2025. He aims to use his experiences as an alumni and long time JET Program coordinator to help promote the mission of JETAANC.
