$3000 for 30 Years of JETAANC!

JETAANC will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2020! To commemorate this milestone, we plan to increase our scholarship awards to three $1000 scholarships per year. We are asking the generous, collaborative JETAA community of northern California and Nevada to support young people in building connections between the US and Japan, furthering JET’s mission of grassroots cultural exchange.

About the Scholarship

JETAANC established a university scholarship award in 2002 for high school seniors from Nevada and the 48 northernmost Californian counties who are headed to an accredited college or university. Applicants do not need to be students of Japanese, but must be able to demonstrate a sustained interest in Japan or Japanese culture (learn more about the scholarship).

How to Get Involved

During this holiday season, we’re inviting you to participate in #GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. After Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, take a moment this holiday shopping season to support a cause close to your heart. JETAA members and friends of JET know the importance of building bridges between cultures; each of us has experienced personal and professional transformation through our connections between the US and Japan. Help us support three future cultural bridge-builders in pursuing their educational goals next year.

Help us reach our $3000 goal!

1) To donate by check, please make checks payable to JETAANC and mail to:

Attn: Treasurer
P.O. Box 2873
San Francisco, CA 94126

2) Donate through Paypal

Paypal donations can be made by clicking the donate button in the footer of the website.

3) Donate through Facebook

On Giving Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 8 AM EST, Facebook will match qualifying donations to nonprofits up to $7 million!

JETAANC is not charged any transaction fees by Facebook for donations, making this option preferable to Paypal if you are a Facebook user.

4) Get Your Colleagues and Company Involved!

Some companies have programs through which they let employees list charitable causes for colleagues to donate to, or the employer will match the charitable contributions made by their employees. If you’re unsure about the programs offered by your employer and how to access them, please contact your HR department.

Share your #MyGivingStory
