PEACE BOAT VISIT TO SAN FRANCISCO

WHEN: Wednesday December 3, 2003, 9-5

WHAT: The Peace Boat is a Japanese NGO that has taken more than 14,000 participants on voyages around the world since is started in 1984. The goal of these voyages is to build a culture of peace throughout the world by setting up networks of NGO's and by studying local environmental, political and economic issues. (www.peaceboat.org)

The "floating peace village" will be docking in San Francisco on December 3rd, 2003, and the Peace Boat has asked JETAANC to take 40 students (all ages) from the boat on "missions" around San Francisco. As a guide, you need to show them your Bay Area - the way people live, work, communicate, interact - and not necessarily take them on the usual tourist tour.

WHERE: We will begin and end the day in San Francisco Harbor.

0900: Hosts board ship, match, reveal missions and receive brief student led tour of ship
0945: Disembark and begin separate tours
1700: Hosts bring students to Peace Festival for event(location and exact time yet to be determined)

SIGN UP : Please contact Tim Morey (president@jetaanc.org) to sign up as a host.
