JETAANC Drinks for Japan Fundraiser – 5/6

In collaboration with the Weekend Warm-Up and 800 Larkin, JETAANC is proud to present “Drinks for Japan”!  Join us as we raise our glasses in continued support of the on-going relief efforts for the tsunami victims.

As the attention of the global media wanes we are entering a critical point of the Japanese tsunami relief operation. The impossible to believe photos and videos of tsunamis washing away entire cities have stopped playing, the harrowing tales of rescue have been written, and estimates of the total damage have been tallied. Only now, as the rest of the world turns their attention to the latest breaking news, the actual work of re-building Japan is commencing.

“More than 100,000 people are still staying at evacuation centers in various parts of the country more than a month after the devastating earthquake and tsunami hit northeastern and eastern Japan,” reports the Japan Times today, May 2nd. The Times continues: “Prime Minister Naoto Kan said Sunday that all evacuees affected by the March 11 disasters would “definitely” have temporary housing by the Bon holidays in mid-August.”

All proceeds of our fundraiser will be donated to the “JET Alumni Association Japan Earthquake Relief Fund”.
