SAKURA! 2012 JETAANC Spring Career & Networking Forum

Sakura! is a new event co-sponsored by the JET Alumni Association of Northern California (JETAANC) and The Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco. The event will take place on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center (OACC) from 1:00-4:00 pm (registration begins at 12:30), followed by a networking reception from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

The event will include a Keynote Speaker and Panel Discussion featuring JET alumni. Afterwards attendees will be able to meet JET Alumni working in various fields and representatives from various organizations,companies and members of the Bay Area professional community during the networking reception. You will also have a chance to have your resume reviewed and discuss job hunting techniques with alumni.

For all JET alumni this is a great opportunity for you to make career contacts, catch up with old friends, and help recently-returned JETs – it’s your second chance to be a sempai all over again!!!!

This event is FREE for JET Alumni! Friends of JET Alumni and others interested in this event may also attend for a fee of $10 paid at the door FREE!

Our distinguished speakers will discuss the new technologies used during the Tohoku disaster, and discuss what lies ahead in the drive to transform Tohoku, and Japan. Our mix of government and private-sector experts will review how Japan has overcome the immediate impact of the catastrophe, and the powerful role the Japan-US alliance played in the recovery.

Hello JET Alumni and Friends,

Welcome to the New Year! You know what that means? Yes! Our Shinnenkai New Year’s Party is right around the corner! Please join us for a semi-formal dinner at Izakaya Yuzuki, which has been getting a lot of buzz in SF’s Mission neighborhood. Yuzuki is graciously allowing us to take over their restaurant for a whole evening! Expect delicious traditional food, games, raffles, socializing, and more! Just like the good old times, right?
